How to run Facebook ads for crowdfunding campaigns.

Watch this first:

If you’re looking to run Facebook ads for your Kickstarter or Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign be sure to watch this video first.  This is an intro into how to create an ad from start to finish and even shows you how to do lead form ads.

No, this is not an exhaustive course on how to do Facebook ads and how to fully optimize and manage them for your campaign.  However, it will show you how to quickly set up ads to start marketing your Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign.  You see, when you run Facebook ads for crowdfunding it allows you to do a few things.

1.  Facebook ads help you find your target audience

Before going live on Kickstarter or Indiegogo it’s important to know who your target audience is.  An oversight on this part will drastically limit how much you can raise.  For example, let’s say you have an inflatable kayak you’re trying to raise money for.  You may think that your audience is kayakers.  You then spend all your time and energy writing copy, designing your page, and scripting your video to appeal to this audience.  Then it happens, you go live and no one converts into a sale?  Why?  It could be the “pro” or “true” kayak audience doesn’t see your invention as a “real” kayak.

However, you may have people who love the outdoors, love physical exercise, want to kayak but aren’t going to make it a full time hobby and sure don’t want to have to worry about storing a kayak when they’re not using it.

During your prelaunch you could create an ad and test both audiences.  Whichever one converts the best and is most engaged lead with.  See how easy that is?

2.  Facebook ads allow you to scale your company

Everyone always asks me, “How much should I budget for my campaign?”  The answer is “As much as humanly possible.”  If you know what your cost per sale is, and you have an ad that gives you that on Facebook why would you want to limit it?  For example, if I know for every $1 I spend I get $4 back, I’m going to spend every penny I have and then borrow some more until that ad stops performing.  Find out what works and then dump resources into it.

While this tutorial doesn’t go into a massive amount of detail it will get you up and running.  Feel free to ask questions below and I’ll answer them.
